Hack The Box Mini Pro Labs: Puppet
Credential
Section titled “Credential”Hack The Box Mini Pro Labs: Puppet — issued by Hack The Box.
Why I took it
Section titled “Why I took it”I chose this mini lab as a deliberate test of method rather than a hunt for a specific answer. My goal was to see whether I could stay methodical and evidence-led across a larger problem than the ones I was used to, and to notice where my own habits held up and where they did not.
What it developed
Section titled “What it developed”The exercise strengthened general working habits rather than any narrow trick:
- Structuring unfamiliar information so that gaps are visible instead of hidden.
- Writing things down as I go, so a later decision can be justified from the record.
- Distinguishing a confirmed observation from a working assumption.
- Keeping a steady pace instead of letting early momentum dictate the whole effort.
Reflection
Section titled “Reflection”What stayed with me was how much of the effort was about management — of attention, of notes, and of my own confidence when a problem did not resolve quickly. I finished with a better appreciation for patience as a skill: the willingness to slow down, re-check the basics, and trust a careful method over a fast guess.

References and next step
Section titled “References and next step”- Hack The Box — the platform that issues this credential.
The next step is to continue practising the slower, evidence-first habits this exercise rewarded, and to keep widening my exposure to unfamiliar systems.
