Why I took it

This Pro Lab was a chance to work on my own for a sustained period and to rely on my own process rather than a guided structure. I wanted to strengthen the discipline of documenting as I go, so that my conclusions stay tied to evidence instead of memory.

What it developed

The main takeaway was a more reliable way of working: slow the problem down, write down what is actually known, and let the notes guide the next step. That habit made it easier to stay calm when something did not work the first time and to spot where my reasoning had drifted.

It also broadened my understanding of how application, identity, network, and endpoint concerns relate — a perspective that matters on both sides of security work.

Reflection

The lesson I keep returning to is that progress came from consistency, not from any flash of insight. Some stretches were slow and unglamorous, and those are the ones that changed how I work. I came away with more humility about how much there is to learn and more confidence that a disciplined approach scales.
